Mietje Lelie, a daughter of Haim Lelie and Kaatje Beugeltas,l married in Amsterdam on 25 November 1931 to Gerrit Lootsteen, a son of Sander Lootsteen and Schoontje Wennik.
Mietje was born in a family with seven children. A twin died soon after they were born. Her other siblings were Isaac, Abraham, Leentje and Rebecca. They have been killed during the Holocaust.
