Raphaël Casoetto, son of Mozes Casoetto and Sara Hijmans, married in Antwerp on 31 October 1922 to Marianna Gompers, daughter of Mozes Gompers and Roosje Velleman.

Raphaël Casoetto was deported on 31 October 1942 from Mechelen to Auschwitz. The 16th and 17th convoy, which were combined to one transport of in total 1676 persons, arrived in Auschwitz on 3 November 1942. Except the massive escapes of 271 persons on the Belgian track, less than half of the arrivals were registered and admitted in the camp. It is therefor not clear, whether Rapaël Casoetto was killed immediately in the gas chambers,on 3 November 1942, or that he - after having performed hard labor in the camp - lost his life on another point of time.
