Jacques Schijveschuurder lived with his family in the Dutch Indies until 1936. When his parents and two siblings moved back there, Jacques stayed in the Netherlands to study. Here he married Sonja Cohen on 17 June 1942, shortly before his deportation. Jacques Schijveschuurder then lived at 17-I Hofmeyrstraat in Amsterdam. The newly weds were deported to Auschwitz together. His two siblings survived the war.
