Heintje Canes was a daughter of Joseph Canes and Klaartje Viskoper. She married 10 Januari 1923 in Amsterdam to Marcus Nunes Vaz, a son of Mordechai Nunes Vaz and Elisabeth Levie.
Heintje Canes had nine siblings, of whom three little brothers have died at a very young age. The others, like she self, Rebecca, Mietje, Mozes, Jansje, Jesaija and Betsij, have been killed during the Holocaust.
