Victorine Hijmans was the second daughter of Isaac Godschalk Hijmans and Eveline Rosette van Lissa. Before the Second World War she lived for a while with her sister Carolina. During the war she lived in The Hague. She was not married. In camp Westerbork, where she arrived in the beginning of December 1942, she registered herself as a teacher in German, French and bookkeeping.
