Jacob de Leeuw was a son of Joseph de Leeuw and Siena Hemelrijk.
He married Mina Himelreich in 1909 in Winterswijk.

Jacob de Leeuw was sent to work at Camp Moerdijk from Vught. He requested a transfer to Westerbork to join his wife Mina de Leeuw-Himelreich there.
