Elisabeth Beek still lived with her parents when she married Abraham Root in August 1941. The couple fled to France in 1942. On 6 August 1942 they got cought in Dijon. Firts they were held at camp Pithiviers. They were deported to Auschwitz via transit camp Drancy.
