Hartog Gerhard Caneel was a bicycle and bicycle parts dealer. He owned a business on Nieuwstraat 57 in Zwolle. In accordance with § 7 VO 48/1941 (Nazi regulation to remove Jews from the trade and industry) the company was liquidated in December 1941 and dissolved in July 1942.
