Aaltje Swaab was a daughter of Mozes Swaab and Dientje Olman. She worked as tailor's cutter and milliner and was unmarried. Her father was killed in Auschwitz; her mother died in 1937 in Rotterdam but her brother Leon might have survived the Holocaust.
From notes on Aaltje's registration card of the Jewish Counicl, her home address was in Rotterdam but she worked at Prinsengracht 28 in Den Haag as "maker of backpacks". On 22 April 1943, she was registered in Camp Vught, from where she has been deported on 15 November 1943 to Auschwitz. There she lost her life on 31 January 1944.
