Josua van Gelder (also known as Jo) went into journalism. He was a reporter for the 'Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant', among other newspapers. In May 1939 a Lockheed plane made a test flight at the new airport of Leeuwarden. Jo van Gelder was there to write a report.
