Levie Mozes Turksma was the oldest son of Mozes Levie Turksma and Martha Mathe. Levie Mozes Turksma grew up in a family with six children. On 22 October 1933 he married Rosette Levy. It was his second marriage. His first wife Louise-Louisa Wolf Stodel died in 1932. With her Levie Mozes Turksma had two children, of which one survived the war.
