About Paul Albert Gobes

Paul Albert Gobes was a son of Salomon Gobes and Marianne van Buren. He had a child with his spouse that survived the war in hiding. He first went into hiding with his siter, who was temporarily free from deportation because she had a child from a non-Jewish man. He then went into hiding with a baker in the south of the Netherlands. His wife had gone into hiding elsewhere in the city. According to tradition he was betrayed by a woman who had fallen in love with him, when she found out he was married and was a Jew.
