Michiel Zak was a son of Jacob Zak and Cornelia Pots. He married 28 January 1931 in Amsterdam to a non-Jewish woman, who has surived the war. The couple had no children.
Michiel had two other brothers and three sisters: one brother has survived the war, however not his wife Anna Italiaander. His brother Simon and his sisters Rachel, Judith and Elisabeth have been killed too during the Holocaust.
