Pinehas de Rooij (de Rooy) was a son of Mozes de Rooij and Sara Boeken, a family with eleven children, among them Keetje, Abraham, Betje (who passed already in 1908), Rebecca, Hartog, Esther, Jacob, Samson, Coenraad, who has survived the Holocaust, Rachel and Pinehas himself.
He married in Rotterdam on 30 June 1909 to Bertha de Vries, daughter of Mozes de Vries and Rozetta Engers.
The couple had two children: Celine and Max, who lived with his parents.
