Meijer Leger was a son of Mozes Leger and Jetje Engers. He married 8 August 1912 in Zaandam to Betsij Polak, a daughter of Eliazer Polak and Sara Maandag. The couple had two children: the here mentioned Eliazer and Henriette.
Meijer was born in a family of nine children, of whom four children did not survive the Holocaust: Meijer self, Isaac, Elisabeth and Salomon. About Meijer's brother Emanuel, who was married to Dina Zak nothing is further known.
