About Julius Reis

Julius Reis, bron in Furth (Bavaria), residing at Nurnberg, was a son of Adolf Reis and Amalie Maij. He was married to Hedwig Helene Apfelbaum from Furth, a daughter of Samuel Apfelbaum and Regina Schwarzhaupt. The couple had a daughter  Gerda Liselotte, who was married to Hans Werner Hirsch from Schweinfurt.

Between 11 November and 10 December 1938, Julius Reis was "interned" in concentration camp Dachau, After his internment he emigrated to The Netherlands and lived at A.G. de Vrijestraat 18 in Gouda. On 10 April 1943 he was taken to Camp Westerbork where he stayed in barack 57. On 11 January 1944, he was deported to Bergen Belsen, where he eventually lost his life on 30 December 1944.
