Max Cohnke and Erna Salmagne were married at Westerbork transit camp on 18 May 1943. He was a tailor. He had been married before to Ernestine Bettelsheim; this marriage ended in divorce. He was a son of Adolph Cohnke and Rosalie Wolff, both deceased. Erna was a daughter of Salomon Salmagne and Rosalie Cohn, both deceased. Eugen Salmagne, a brother of the bride, served as a witness at the marriage. He signed the marriage certificate.
