Levie Rubens was a son of Herschel Hartog Rubens and Betje Kattenburg. He married on 4 January 1908 in Leeuwarden to Klaartje Polak, with whom he had a son Hartog in 1910. Levie however devorced her in Leeuwarden on 31 October 1916. He married again in Amsterdam to Rachel Soubice on 12 December 1917 but she passed away there on the 6th of May 1940. Levie Rubens remarried then in Amsterdam to Elisabeth Dressou on23 October 1940.
