Bentzel Grajer from Kiev was a son of Mozes Grajer and Lea Blüm. He resided already in Amsterdam since December 1890. Saartje Hes from Enkhuizen was a daughter of the religious teacher Joseph Hes and Naatje Koch. Bentzel Grajer and Saartje Hes married on 14 March 1907 in Amsterdam and the couple had four children: One son died as a baby of 5 months old and one son has survived the Holocaust. Their daughter Lena, who was already married and lived at another address and the still living at home with his parents, their son Mozes, have been killed in the Shoah.
