Nathan Bernhard van Blijdestein was a son of the butcher Machiel van Blijdestein and Schönette Frank. Nathan was a religious teacher. He married 22 November 1905 in Amsterdam Sophia Kransberg from Zutphen, a daughter of Simon Levie Kransberg and Marianne Philips. In 1906, the couple had a son, born in Emmen (province of Drenthe). Nothing is further known about him. In 1915 their son Louis was born in Sittard who has been killed somewhere in Mid Europe on 15 March 1945. Nathan Bernard van Blijdestein and his wife Sophia were killed together on 14 May 1943 in Sobibor.
