Rebekka den Arend was a daughter of Salomon den Arend and Leentje van Vlies. She married 2 April 1913 in Rotterdam Levij Rubens from Doetinchem, a son of Ruben Rubens and Judik Cohen. The couple had four children, of whom two children survived the Holocaust. The other children, Lena and Juda were killed - together with their parents - on 9 November 1942 in Auschwitz.
