Amelia Polack (sometimes written as Amalia), was a daughter of Louis Polack and Annie Beers. She was born at Mile End Old Town, London where her birth was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1876 (entry 1c,547). On 23 January 1911 she married in Zaandam the 52-year old Louis Swart from Nijkerk, a son of David Salomon Swart and Marianna van Rees. He was a wool agent and a commissioner. From the date of her wedding Amelia lived in Amsterdam at the address of her husband Louis Swart at Gerard Doustraat 198 ground floor. At this address on 27 December 1918 was also registered an Abraham Polak, a boarder, born in Leeuwarden, office clerk and unmarried who lived previously in Den Haag. (no family of Amelia).
Amelia’s husband Louis Swart passed away on 27 February 1930 and he was interred on 2 March 1930 in the Jewish Cemetery of Diemen. As far as is known, there were no offspring from this marriage. Amelia Swart-Polack, a shopkeeper by profession, moved on 16 January 1939 from Gerard Doustraat 198 ground floor to 172 ground floor. Her boarder, Abraham Polak moved with her but passed away there on 10 August 1941 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery of Diemen two days later on 12 August 1941.
On 21 November 1942, Amelia Polack was registered in Camp Westerbork where she stayed in barrack 70. On 4 December 1942 she was deported to Auschwitz and was killed there immediately upon arrival on 7 December 1942.
