Philip Pijpeman was a son of Wolf Pijpeman, a dealer in sponges, and Roosje Trijtel. Philip had six other brothers and one sister, namely Hartog, Samuel Hartog, Meijer, Joseph, Jacob, Abraham and Sara. Only his sister Sara has survived the Holocaust. His mother passed away already in 1926 in Rotterdam but his father and all his brothers were killed in the Shoah.
According the family registration card from the City Archive of Rotterdam of his father Wolf Pijpeman, Philip had become a resident of the S.A.Rudelsheimstichting at Verdilaan 10 in Hilversum since 11February 1932, an institute for subnormal children. Also his brother Abraham stayed there since 1933; he was deported from there in 1943 to Sobibor. Philip however was registered agan as citizen of Rotterdam since 1 April 1940 at the address Zaagmolendrift 53c.
Philip Pijpeman has been killed in Mauthausen 25 June 1942.
