Hartog van Dam, son of Levie van Dam and Duifje van der Sluis, lived in Den Haag with his mother and sister Sibilla after the divorce of his parents in 1936. Unlike his sister, who was already brouht into Camp Westerbork on 20 August 1942, Hartog and his mother were registered in Camp Westerbork only on 8 December 1942. On 12 December deportation to Auschwitz followed where he and his mother were killed immediately upon arrival there on 15 December 1942.
