Ruben Frankenhuis and his sister Adela were children of Heiman Frankenhuis and Sophia Meijer. They were unmarried and lived toghether at the address Zuiderhagen 36 in Enschede. Ruben was a grease trader. The profession of Adela is not known. They were both registered 26 March 1943 in Camp Westerbork and stayed in barack 69 till they werd deported to Sobibor 30 March. Upon arrival there 2 April 1943 they were both immediately killed.
In the family of their parents, Heiman Frankenhuis, (a son of Koopman Meijer Frankenhuis and Henrijetta Joseph Davie) and Sophia Meijer, (a daughter of Ruben Meijer and Ziena Philips), nine children were born. Of those, one child died at the age of 6 and another died only five days old. One child survived the Holocaust but the other four children were all killed in the Shoah.
Their siblings Marcus and Hertog werd killed in Sobibor too, together with their families. Only their brother Israël was killed in Auschwitz together with his wife. Their sister Ziena however passed away in Schoonhoven 18 April 1942 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery there.
