Elsje Zonligt, born 14 August 1872 was the eldest daughter of Alexander Zonligt and Leentje Saphier. She had another eight siblings, of whom Mozes (1874) survived the Holocaust and passed away in Belgium; Jacob (1875) died still before the war in 1932; Hijman (1878) survived the war too and died in 1961 in Rotterdam. The others, namely Isaac, Hartog, Abraham Aron, Levie and Salomon were all killed in the Shoah. Elsje remained unmarried.
She lived in Antwerp with her parents and stayed later at more than 15 different addresses in Amsterdam till she was registered at the address Topaasstraat 1 1st floor on 14 Februray 1930 , where she resided together with her also unmarried brother Salomon, till she was carried off from there to Westerbork on 23 March 1943. She stayed there in barrack 60 till she was deported 6 April to Sobibor, where, on arrival there on 9 April 1943, she has been immediately killed.
