David J., who was trained as a tailor, lived at Franklinstr. 19 in Berlin -Charlottenburg prior to emigrating to Amsterdam with his parents on 08.08.1936. His father Kurt (geb. 1902 in Berlin) and mother Fanny Josephsohn-Leibenhaut (geb. 1901 in Skole) emigrated to the USA in 1953. They changed the spelling of their last names to Josephson; Fanny passed away in 1987, and Kurt in 1994, both in Los Angeles, California.
