Stolperstein for Max Block

In recent years, Dr. Thomas Nowotny, cousin of Max Block, traced the footsteps of his relative from his native town of Bochum, via the Netherlands, to his deportation to Theresienstadt and Auschwitz. He visited the places where his great-uncle lived, the houses he inhabited and the camps he was deported to. The result, published in a booklet, was presented to Joel Cahen, director of the JHM, in the Hollandsche Schouwburg on the 28th of April 2011. The same day, German artist Gunter Demnig, placed a Stolperstein ("stumbling stone") in the sidewalk of the Brahmsstraat, the last address of Max Block.
