Hans Hugo came to the Netherlands on January 5th, 1939 with his two brothers. First all three of them stayed in the Dommelhuis in Eindhoven. In November 1939 Hans Hugo and Heinz Günther went to Wieringen. Hans Hugo was not a Zionist and trained in agriculture.
Their parents wanted to go to Columbia.
His mother's name was Hedwig Hermanns, born on April 10th, 1892 in Neuwerk (?), father's name was Friedrich, born on November 7th, 1891 in Velbert. They were taken to the ghetto in Riga.
