Bet (as she was called) was the 4th of 9 children of Jacob Hijman Levie & Jenneke de Roos. My grandmother Rachel Levie, her brother Simon and her sister Antje came to the United States before the war. The rest of the siblings were murdered in the Shoah, except for Roosje, who may have survived. (I have been unable to locate any information about her since she left Etten Leur.) The 9 were: Hijman Jacob Levie (1871-1943, Catharina Levie (1872-1897), Rachel Levison-Levie (1874-1931), Elisabeth ("Bet") Nenk-Levie (1876-1943), Roosje Levie (1879-?) twin of Simon Levie (1879-1879), Antje Smits-Levie (first married to Abraham Spetter) (1886-1976) and Simon Jacob Levie (1885-1960)
