The parents of Günter Poortje were Alfred Poortje, born 1890 in Dortmund, and Erna Poortje-Steinberg, born 1897 in Altena. They survived by hidíng in a church in Den Helder from 1941 - 1945. Günter died in the forcedlabour camp of Cosel in Upper Silisia.
