Max Ansorge moved to Munich in 1914. He married here in 1922 the non jewish Anna Pinsl. In 1920 he founded "Betten-Ansorge", Lindwurmstraße 17 (a shop that still exists today under the name "Baby-Ansorge"). A son was born in Noevember 1923.
At the time of the Novemberpogrom 1938 Max Ansorge was interned at KZ Dachau for a few weeks. After he was released in December, he emigrated to Amsterdam at Jan. 28th 1939, without his family. Later he was arrested in Amsterdam, on 20.01.1944 he was deported from Westerbork to Theresienstadt with Transport XXIV. On 29.09.1944 he was deported from there to Auschwitz, after two weeks on 10.10.1944 to Dachau. Max Ansorge was murdered 03.01.1945 at Außenlager Kaufering.
