Renate Schetzer emigrated with her mother, Ella Goldstein née Schlochauer (widowed Schetzer, born 13.07.1892) to Amsterdam from Berlin-Charlottenburg in April 1938. The month before, her mother had remarried Walter Kurt Goldstein (born 25.12.1891) in Marylebone, UK. They lived together at Olympiaplein 164 in Amsterdam. Renate's father Georg Schetzer (born 14.02.1891) had, according to an unsourced family tree on ancestry.com, died in 1931. All three were deported together to Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp on 12.01.1944, where Renate's mother died on March 6 1945. Renate and her stepfather Walter survived to see the camp liberated on 15 April, but both died within the week.
