Jacques was deported together with his older brother, Elias, from Belgium on Mechelen Convoy V. The transport left on 25 August 1942 and arrived at Auschwitz a few days later.
Both Elias and Jacques passed selection and were admitted to the camp. According to the Auschwitz death certificates, which were issued live during the war, Elias and Jacques died just one day apart from each other: Elias perished on 24 September 1942 and Jacques on 25 September 1942. They had each other's back until the end.
