Abraham Pimontel entered Camp Vught 10 Apr 1943. In Vught, Abraham was employed as a radio technician in the Philips factory. This position made Abraham ineligible for deportation.
Abraham stayed at Vught until the Philips factory was emptied on 3 June 1944 and was deported to Auschwitz the same day. At Auschwitz, due to their status as skilled workers, the Philips transport did not undergo selection and was immediately dispersed to various locations in the concentration camp system to be utilized for their skilled labor.
It is not clear the exact path that Abraham took after June 1944, however, he was registered on a list of Dutch survivors in summer 1945 and thus survived the war.
