Walter Rudolf Katz (born 15.03.1911 in Rinteln, Germany) was deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz on 10.08.1942 along with his wife, Sidonie Katz (née Stern) and their six-year-old daughter, Margot. Whilst Sidonie was most likely sent to the gas chambers with Margot upon arrival, Walter was selected to work. According to the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum inmate database, he was later admitted to the 'infirmary' in Block 28 of Auschwitz I, and died on 12.01.1943.
