The Klein family lived at Pariser Str. 53 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf prior to emigrating to Holland after the failed voyage on the St. Louis. Leopold Klein was an economist (Ökonom). Their daughter Hannelore, later married Grünberg, was born in Berlin in 1927. She was also on the doomed voyage of the passenger ship St. Louis, and survived Westerbork Camp, Theresienstadt Ghetto, and Auschwitz and Mauthausen concentration camps.
