Ludwig Roth (Berlin, 4 August 1900 - Gross Rosen, 7 February 1945) was a son of Alfred Roth (Berlin 22-12-1871) and Elsa Hinrichsen (Berlin, 6-2-1872). He fled to The Hague in August 1936, where he worked as a school teacher until 1939. He then moved to Pluimerstraat 35 a in Groningen.
In 1942 he was forced to go to the labour camp De Fledders in Westervelde, as were more than 120 Jews from Groningen with him. All Jews in the labour camp were transported to Westerbork in the first days of October 1942.
Ludwig was deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz on 5 October 1942 and died in Gross Rosen on 7 February 1945.
About Ludwig's family
Ludwig's brother Kurt Roth (Berlin, 28.02.1906 - 09.06.1996, Dallas, Texas, USA) married Ruth Kaethe Roth (née Steinitz) (Berlin, 23.05.1908 - 08.03.2006, Dallas) in Berlin on 24 March 1932.
In Berlin Kurt worked for his father and father-in-law in a successful export-import and insurance company. His wife Ruth worked too, in her parents’ belt factory. Kurt and Ruth, his parents and his grandparents - all lived together 40-42, Schützenstrasse in the building where the insurance company was situated.
They moved to the USA in 1936. Both arrived from Hamburg, SS Washington, 30.04.1936. They lived in New York where Kurt was assistant office manager at Adam Hat Company. They had two children and moved to Dallas in 1955.

Kurt and Ludwig's parents, rabbi Alfred Roth and Elsa Hinrichsen were deported to Terezin on 28.07.1942.
