Verhaal

Marian Neuhaus Nachman

Daughter of Martha and Arthur Neuhaus

Marian was born to German parents who lived in Amsterdam in 1937. She was eventually relocated to the USA by her father's youngest brother: Kurt Neuhaus. Kurt had fled to the USA in 1937 and had volunteered for service in the US Army. He was trained at Camp Ritchie, a program for the intelligence branch of the US Army, that was recruiting German Jewish people who had fled the Nazi's. Kurt was a part of the 1945 Spring offensive, and there is a record in his papers of having taken "family time" and it was during that moment that he went to the Netherlands to find his niece and arrange for her to go to the USA, where she was adopted by their oldest brother Fritz and his wife Ellen (my grandparents). Marian Nachman (nee Neuhaus) currently lives near her two children and grandchildren in Seattle WA.

Marians biography is included (in English) in this book: https://books.google.de/books?id=rYveWTr5wicC&pg=PA75&lpg=PA75&dq=marian+neuhaus+nachman&source=bl&ots=VRmNEB54iE&sig=23Ynjhzmf6FinGoJa0PsiMHykPA&hl=de&sa=X&ei=UC2KUvx7h5O1BqKZgOAK&ved=0CC0Q6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=marian%20neuhaus%20nachman&f=false
