Schoontje is een dochter van Nathan Isaac Soester en Roosje Jacob Veltijn. Ze trouwde 14 maart 1894 met Simon Ortje (A'dam, 4 juli 1867), zoon van Josua Ortje en Klaartje Lijmer.

Simon Ortje was the son of Josua Ortje and Klaartje Lijmer. He married in 1894 to Schoontje Soester, daughter of Nathan Isaac Soester and Roosje Jacob Veltijn. They had one child, that survived the war.
