Levie Cohen moved to the Nieuwe Amstelstraat 32 and stayed for a while in the same house as Gertrud Van Tijn-Cohn (a corner house also numbering on the Waterlooplein which was a bank building with a house for the local bank chief above).
His Music shop was confiscated on January 28 1942. A certain Piet Schuurman became 'Treuhänder' for the music shop Crescendo of Levie Cohen. The shop continued to exist after the war. Since the early fifties a certain Paul Stibbe is running it and according to advertisements one copuld buy Jiddish music records there after WWII. I am looking for another link of a clon/comeida group named "Rafaël & Co", maybe Levie Cohen was part of that group. I have a postcard send to Jac. v. Collem, Waterlooplein 78 I, with a picture of this burlesque group. There is no stamp or date on that photograph. Seems to be of the 'twenties.'
