Jacob de Liema was a son of Salomon de Liema and Judith Koekoek. He was first married to Elisabeth Alter. In 1932 he married to Esther Hijmans. She was the daughter of Mozes Hijmans and Kaatje Alter. She was first married to Nathan van Tijn, who passed away in 1926. From the first marriage two children were born: Mozes and one child that survived the war.
