Jankiel Kwekzylber and his family

Jankiel Kwekzylber and Estera Perlmutter had two children. Both children lived at other addresses. Their daughter Ruth Kweksilber didn't survive the war.

The couple fled from Cologne in Germany to The Netherlands in 1937. When there was a threat of them being send back, Jankiel Kwekzylber slit his wrists. This incident led to questions in Dutch parliament.

The child that survived the war, would write one of the first books about the Persecution of the Jews in The Netherlands during the occupation.
