Mirian Cohen was a daughter of Mozes Cohen and Ester Mirian Roos. On 6 October 1915 she married Jacob Zilverberg in Amsterdam, a son of David Zilverberg and Froukje Duitscher. The couple had six children, namely David Estella in 1916, Estelle Froukje Jeannettina Paulina in 1918, Isaac Dina in 1921, Philip Margot in 1923, Mozes in 1928 and Franciscus Cornelis in 1931. All born at Amsterdam except Mozes, he was born in Rotterdam and all have lost their lives during the Holocaust except Estelle Froukje Jeannettina Paulina who survived the war.
Mirian was born into a family with four children, of whom she self and her brother Simon were killed in the Shoah. Her sisters Jeannette and Jacoba Dina have surived the war but her mother Ester Mirian Roos was als killed during the Holocaust too. Her father, butcher by trade, passed away in Coevorden on 29 May 1902 at the age of 38. Afterwards in 1912, Mirian was unsubscribed from the Peoples Registry from Coevorden to Sint Willibrordusstraat 9 in Amsterdam, were her uncle Daniël and aunt Sibilla Cohen lived.
Three years later, on 6 October 1915 she married Jacob Zilverberg. After 1923, they moved from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, lived afterwards shortly in Utrecht and returned in September 1934 to Amsterdam again. On 16 November 1938 the whole family moved to Valkenburgerstraat 10-3rd floor.
The family of Mirian and Jacob Zilverberg was soon torn apart by the Germans. Their sons David Estella and Isaac Dina were already arrested during raids in 1941 in Amsterdam and killed in Mauthausen. Philip Margot lost his life in Auschwitz on 30 September 1942 and Mozes and his brother Francicus Cornelis were killed in Auschwitz 19 November 1943.
Mirian Cohen and her spouse Jacob Zilverberg were locked in twice in Weseterbork. The first time both were registererd in Westerbork on 23 September 1942 and locked up in penal barrack 67. For whatever reason and at what time they have fled tehe camp or were dismissed is unknown. Known however is that Mirian was brought in the 2nd time in Westerbork on 7 January 1944 and again was locked up in penal barrack 67. She was put on transport 8 February to Auschwitz and on arrival there 11 February 1944 immediately killed.
Jacob Zilverberg came in the 2nd time at Westerbork on 17 January 1944, 10 days later than his wife. He too was locked up again in penal barrack 67 but already a week and a half earlier, on 25 January deported to Auschwitz On arrival there 28 January 1944 he was immediately killed.
