The bus thunders along fields, meadows and farmsteads. The landscape is like a picture.

Nico Louis Herschel and Malchen Weijel were zionists. They were members of the Deventer group of Palestine pioneers. In 1942, they had a child, which survived the war in hiding, as it was given into the care of a family in Oosterbeek.

Malchen Weijel vertrok op 22 december 1941 vanuit Zwolle naar Den Haag waar zij korte tijd woonde. Zij trouwde op 26 maart 1942 met Nico L. Herschel en woonde daarna in Zwolle in de Derk Buismanstraat 4. Vandaar vertrok zij op 7 april 1943 noodgedwongen naar Amsterdam (Tugelaweg 110-I).

Tswi Herschel onthulde op 25 maart 2015 voor de Derk Buismanstraat 4 te Zwolle drie Stolpersteine voor zijn ouders Nico Louis Herschel (Zwolle, 20-9-1915 - Sobibor, 23-7-1943) en Malchen Herschel-Weijel (Zwolle, 3-4-1919 - Sobibor, 23-7-1943), alsook voor zijn grootvader Herman Herschel (Goor, 14-1-1887 – Auschwitz, 22-10-1942).
