Salomon is een zoon van Mozes Cohen en Dorothea Spanjaard. Hij trouwde 27 mei 1885 in Weesp met Leentje van der Bijl (Den Helder, 26 mei 1863), dochter van Jacob van der Bijl en Miriam Pimentel.
