Fokje Mozes werd geboren op 12 mei 1909 in Vlagwedde, als dochter van Mozes Mozes en Jantja Mozes-Vrenger. Zij trouwde met Levie Valk, op 1 april 1898 geboren in Anloo, als zoon van Benjamin Valk en Bartha Wallage.
Samen kregen zij twee kinderen: Mozes (Bellingwolde, 19-07-1928) en Bartha (Bellingwolde, 09-01-1934).

Levie was koopman/veehandelaar van beroep, in Vlagtwedde.
