About Frits Goldsteen

After elementary school Frits Goldsteen went to the ULO (advanced primary education). On 17 August 1942 he had to go to the labour camp Linde. Shortly afterwards he was sent to Westerbork.

Hartog Goldsteen and his family

Hartog Goldsteen married Rezina Turksma on 30 April 1919. They had two children: Lini and Frits. Hartog had a chemist’s shop/house-painting workshop at the corner of Tweede Hoofdstraat and Keizersgracht in Meppel. The shop was closed down in 1942. On 20 July 1942 Hartog Goldsteen had to go to Orvelte labour camp. On 2 October he was taken from there to Westerbork, where he saw his wife again.
