Maurits Sonepouse

Maurits Sonépouse came from a family with five children. Two of them survived the war. According to tradition Maurits was gifted and had many special abilities.

Een Amsterdams politierapport van 24 september 1942 vertelt dat ‘den jood Maurits Sonépouse, filmoperateur en de Jodin Duifje Gootdorp op den openbaren weg liepen zonder Jodenster’. Het gebeurde aan de Weesperzijde in Amsterdam. Maurits en Duifje zijn meegenomen naar het politiebureau. Maurits kon zich niet legitimeren en zijn vrouw Duifje was in het bezit van een vals persoonsbewijs.

Het is niet duidelijk of de achternaam van Maurits Sonépouse met of zonder accent geschreven moet worden. De diverse bronnen spreken elkaar hierover tegen.
