Barend Italiaander werd genoemd naar zijn grootvader. Voor hij portier werd in Haarlem was hij etaleur. Met zijn vrouw Schoontje woonde hij eerst Mesdagstraat 60, later Trompenburgstraat 85 in Amsterdam.
